Dear Community of St. Charles,
I would like to inform you that I will be retiring, after almost 14 years, as the Religious Ed. Coordinator here at St. Charles. This has been a very hard decision for me to make. I have contemplated for quite a while as to what is God’s will for me at this time. I can’t stop praising God for all of you. God helped me to focus on all the blessings I have received from the Community, Father Carl, Deacon Brent, the Staff, the Parents, the Children and all the wonderful Volunteers who helped make this position such a special time for me. When I took on this position, I doubted myself at first, saying how can I possibly take over what Ms. Carolyn had done for so many years. Well, after a year or two, I saw how this community comes together with open hearts to give a helping hand in any way that is needed. You all have shown me so much love and support. I could not have made it without all of you!!
My reflection:
Through this special time as Religious Ed. Coordinator, I reflected on one word. That word is LOVE. Sometimes this can be the hardest act to show or give at times. But God tells us LOVE is the strongest force in the world. It is unconditional and never fails. LOVE is a choice. God first loved us (1 John 4:19). God’s greatest desire is to be with us; not because of anything we can do for Him, but simply because He loves us. Nothing can separate us from this love. I truly believe each one of you were CHOSEN by God, knowing that you would respond to our parish’s needs. I also know you responded out of love that you have for God and for our community of St. Charles. But the true winners of your devotion are our children. Each of you have helped to make our Youth Formation Program a success and for this I am most grateful, since I strived for its success. I have learned so much from each one of you and especially the children. They brought so much joy to me. I will always hold them and all of you dear to my heart. My husband and I have been parishioners here at St. Charles for 40 years, and we will continue to volunteer and help out in this great community. All of you have been a true gift to me.
May God Bless You All!! ……. Love, Lisa
